Seen a nice series 2 advertised that I'm rather interested in. Just put its Reg. number into an online Insurance checking website and it came up that it was currently insured and was a 109" diesel. However, the landy is for sure an 88" petrol. Is there something dodgy going on here do you think? Should I run a mile? Would I encounter problems if I bought it and then the decrepency showed up when I insured it?
Thanks

I should mention that it has been fitted with a V8 out of a rangerover. Could it be that the insurance company doesn't have a convertion like this on their database so have used the LWB info to bump up its insurance band a bit?

I spoke to a mate about it and he found when he checked up on his subaru legacy it came up as being an impreza. I tried the reg of my old pergeot 106 and that came back as being a 405!

It was that website that someone on here brought to our attention a few weeks back. I know that it's not gonna be gosple but now it's put that awful feeling of doubt in me. The landy has just passed its MOT so it says so surely its details will have been through the dvla computer system alright.

Suppose if I am the winning bidder I can then go through the paper work with a magnifiying glass before I pays up and if anything seems wrong I can just walk away.

Ere ya used me PC spiel i see!!! Chuffed ta be of service! Like i said catchy and to the point!

My old audi had the wrong details on the insurance database too, i think it's quite common. (although the database also said there was no problem with the 60K shown milage and turned out it had been clocked and had 180K on it!) I think the Experian (or maybe someone else, can't remember) check comes with some sort of warranty so if it turns out to be a complete duffer there is some comeback, and not too pricey from what i remember.

Yeah, I was gonna ask if there was a copyright on it but I didn't so there it is, catchy and to the point! I cut and pasted it so I can't edit the bit out which is unsuitable for outside the anything goes so I'll blame you for it! :)

Just checked the landy out on that website and the details seem to match so looks like it was all above board unless they were false plates on it. Not to matter now that the aution has ended early. Maybe it was dodgy and they knew we were onto it!?

Looked a nice vehicle anorl, what do you lot reckon it should have been worth?

crying over spilt milk and all that.Just missed out on a range rover classic today cos er who must be obeyed made us go shopping.I missed the end of the auction by 4 mins and would have given him another 6o quid on top of what the winning bid was!

ffs you were moaning and ****tin yersen that it were a ringer, now some other ****er has bought it rather than dither about yer ****in moanin that yer dint buy it. mek yer fookin mind up will yer

Yeah but they ended it early, it should have finished tomorrow afternoon! I was looking forward to having a sleepless night worrying whether I should be getting it. Then I was gonna have breakfast sitting there thinking "yes....no......yes....maybe". Then I would have watched the aution count down and put my bid in with less than 20 seconds left. And then waiting there with pounding heart and..........been outbid!

I've been robbed of the fun of ebay! I emailed to to and find out where else it was advertised but never got a reply. Ho hum.....

I'm off to search for some more ebay crap!

sniping eh?Yer im looking for a new object of desire on there too(that means car before any one starts)

I know the feeling! There was something I was after so set up the computer ready to stick a bid in at the last second. I had to go out so I made sure that I came home just at the right time to find her indoors had switch the bloody pc off so I missed it. Grrrrrr....
