My 1997 Land Rover Discovery 300 TDi has developed a loud 'popping' noise on the audio system and sometimes the head lights go brighter when I apply the parking brake. The rev counter also becomes erratic when I switch on the indicators or use the brakes. It's also causing the radio to ask for the codes due to power failure / drop in voltage. Frequently, the immobiliser also cuts in and the starting motor will not turn the engine over.
After a wait of 3 to 5 minutes the engine will then turn over normally.
Could this possibly be a loose earth somewhere ?
The vehicle has just had a new battery, O/S wing and bumper end cap fitted, this is when the fault appeared. The battery leads are well tight and clean
Any help would be deeply appreciated.
