Hello to all!
A new member here wanting some advice...
I have recently bought a 97 300tdi station wagon. ( of which I learnt to drive in 16 years ago!) from a family friend. It's in great nick with 90000 on the clock.
What a I looking at it being worth? Is it worth a 1500 quid tidy up and keep for possible rise in price or sell now for quick investment.
All information welcome
cheers ! image.jpeg

You could sell it for 5k any time you want. Feasibly more depending on the details.

Pikey would give you Beasty for that ...

Yes, 2k. I've wanted one for years and have a new DMAX for work. All I'm asking is weather to invest in this one.. Or sell on and buy a td5 or newer..? Cheers!

If you got that for £2000 and it's clean underneath and runs you did very well and as said you could sell it for £5000 all day long

Given the choice of a 300tdi or a td5, both in equal condition, personally, id choose the 300.
It took me some time to find my 300tdi 110 csw at the right price. Whilst i was looking, i saw td5s, but i was not interested.

It strikes me that, with all respect, you are being a fool - youve wanted one for years, youve found a nice one, for not a lot of money - and instantly youre talking about selling it???

Thanks for your honesty. I'm very much one for gathering perspective before making a choice. I also like to keep and look after vehicles for a long time. I'm just picking on the sites users brains for better information on value and views on older vs newer, and weather to invest in something older or buy closer to the end of production date for this model (110)... in the long run, I won't sell when I've made my decision.
