Do I have the right steering box

Afternoon everyone,

I am in the need of a new (another) steering box but I think I might have the wrong one currently. I have the 3 bolt version with the three bolts in a triangle pattern and one bolt in the middle. The ones I have been looking at on ebay call it a range rover steering box. Should I have something different on my early 90 2.5 NA (84-86). It is an ex RAF if that helps. If so can I switch to a 4 bolt (seems to be more common to 90/Defenders. Thanks for any words.

if the steering was good with the old box ( enough movement left to right) then replace with the same type . otherwise change to the 4 bolt

you will need pipes for switching boxes 6 and 4 bolt same pipes 3 bolt different other fastenings the same 3 bolt is heaviest duty 4 bolt middle 6 bolt lightest
