Do all Freelanders have a FBH?

Hello

I had no idea that freelanders had a FBH until i read something yesterday about it. Ive read through Madhatman's guide, and it says its on the M47 engine.

How do i tell if ive got an M47 engine?? my motor is a Y-plate TD4 which is a BMW engine. It says on Wikipedia that thats a M47R engine. So im non the wiser.

And if i have got one, how do i use it??

Any help greatly appreciated.

Td4 is an m47 engine. Mine is a 52 plate but does not have an fbh. Others have. Can't remember the cut off date

i used to drive ambulances that had Webasto or erbacher FBH's. and can say that my pig has never made any sounds like is does.

My '06 HSE doesn't have a FBH either. It does however have a PTC heater, which works.

Our Feb 2001 Td4 has one fitted but it doesn't fire up properly, could be a faulty pump.

my 54 TD4 does have a FBH,which seems odd given the other dates given

Fuel burning heater

"The Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) heater replaces the Fuel Burning Heater (FBH) fitted to Td4 vehicles in markets of a moderate climate. The PTC heater, like the FBH, is an auxiliary heating system that compensates for the relatively low coolant temperature inherent in the diesel engine.The PTC heater is an electrical heating element installed in the heater assembly on the downstream side of the heater matrix.
NOTE: Cold climate specification vehicles still maintain the FBH."

my 2001 FL commercial has the PTC heater fitted.

I'm assuming mine is a FBH,due to exhaust under NS headlight.

Yes

Mines got the plumbing going in there. ....but no FBH......some fooker had stolen it and re-plumbed the pipes
