DIY Roof Tent

I've the 'half length rails and low profile bars on my 'lander.

What do you think if i bolt on some marine ply to the bars and secure a cheap 'pop up tent' to 'eyes' screwed into the ply?

Haven't any past knowledge of roof tents and it's my first 'lander.

Have to find a way to secure the guy ropes.

Again, no experience, just seems like common sense.

somewhere, on 'ere, theres a thread about someone who did just what your talking about, with a cheap pop up tent from decathlon, for about £25.00!!,
they had a whale of a time with it, trawl around some searches and seee what yer find.
