discovery v8 - vapour block

i cant understand why my car keeps stopping and starting. someone told me it could be a vapour block - but whats one of those ?

I think a Vapour Block was a special move on street fighter for the mega drive

I thourght it was a new kind of contraception :confused2::confused2:

its my first disco so really dont know vey much and grasping at straw

i will try again . i start the car if i was to drive off straight away i would get 200 yards down the road and she would cut out. i leave it for about 5 mins and then she starts again. i can also be driving through town or anywhere and she will just cut out. going on hols soon towing a caravan so trying to sort it out.

When it stops see if there is presure in the fuel tank when you take the cap off, if so it will stop fuel to engine ,carry on your jurny with cap off to see if thats the problem
think your mates vapour lock is crank case presure build up,dont useally cut out but do stall,also will **** oil eavery were soon,check your engine breathers for blockage

a few thing to try beffore we get deep

vapour lock is when the petrol vaporises in the carb before entering the block, creates a pressure lock so no more fuel can be pulled/sucked through, had the issue on my DB6 until we had a mod done.
Breathers are a good start as above said. loose wire, fuel pump.
End of the day your looking at Fuel, Spark and Air......

Just a thought. Is it an Efi one or carbs? Mine's a 3.5 Efi with an amplifier module on the side of the distributor. Mine randomly cut out and it turned out to be that. Took weeks of checking everything until I gave up and went to my local garage. Fixed it straight away.
