Hi guys ive just joined the forum,

Ive just got my first landy......2001 2.5td5 discovery. Its a nice motor and relatively good nick, having read a few horror stories I thought I would still go for one as I think the ammout LR must have sold must issues can be sorted (hopefully lol)

I bought it with a months warranty on engine/mechanical etc but have since discovered the front upper headline is soaking wet....it appears I have the common leaky sunroof is there a how to section to quickly point me in the right direction of a fix ?

Thanks

I 've fixed this on a few motors and sorry there is no quick fix if you want it to look good after you have finished.
You have to remove the roof lining and all the trim off the pillars [its not as daunting as it sounds] once you have done that you undo all fourteen screws from the sunroof cassette, disconnect the motor or winding mech. and push the whole cassette up through the roof.
Once you have cleaned all the old sealant off the roof and the underside of the sunroof lip where it sits on the car roof use a decent sealant and fix back into place.
To be honest with you if you are doing one you might aswell do both while your at it.
You can probably do this in a morning it takes about a hour to take the lining out about another hour to clean and prep the cassettes and probably about two hours to put everything back.
