Hi there, I wonder if any of you can shed some light on a recent problem. My 01 TD5 ES has started to run lumpy ( it feels like a mis-fire), this only starts when it gets to normal temp. When its cooled down or cold it starts and runs normal, I ve been out and cleaned the MAP sensor, which was all cruddy. Its just had a new fuel pressure reg, there are no leaks so I'm assuming something electrical. She has covered 112,000. Any ideas please? Cheers Chris.

Hi. I've just (with the help of this forum!) cured my 2000 TD5, which had just done 75,000, of a similar problem.

Try searching the symptom on here and you will get some idea of tell tale signs to see if its one in the same as mine.

Basically my problem was with the injector wiring harness. This sits under the rocker cover and is imersed in oil. After about 70-80,000 miles or so, the seals on the harness let oil get by. This in turn tracks to the engine management unit, causing a misfire.

New wiring harness (about 35.00) and an hour tops to clean the ecu and refit and bobs your uncle.!!

There are lots of threads devoted to exactly this issue....very common with the TD5 engine apparently.

James
