Couldn't see any posts on this, so thought I'd add mine. It was done by Matt4x4 near Reading, and he did a great job. The parts only cost £38, and Matt only charged an hours labour.
If you are going to attempt this, then you might want to consider applying a bit of vaseline under the repair strip and around any areas that might 'rub' on the dash itself. That way, you should lessen the possibility of annoying noises. Although there are a number of other such noises emanating from my Disco, I am trying to eliminate them one by one.
I have to get a friend of mine to drive the car up the motorway at 80mph this weekend, as I have an annoying vibration noise coming from my passenger seat, which only appears at 80mph!
I'll be hangin' around the back of the seat ready to apply my sense of hearing direction and pinpoint the cause of the offending noise. I know its the seat, because when I'm driving and the noise appears, I just have to push the back of the passenger seat upright a tiny bit (barely touch it, really) and the noise disappears.
