Hi - I'm taking part in the 2008 plymouth-dakar rally, and am looking some assistance please!
I need to buy a set of bonnet pins for our aging Disco, it's an 89/90 3.5Ltr V8 if that helps.
What do you all reccomend, and where would I buy them?
Also
We've swopped the original alloys for 16" steel rims, but what AT tyre size should I go for. (205's) were on the alloys, but I'd like somthing a little taller so that when we deflate wheels slightly for driving across the sahara there's more "footprint"

Thanks again
Richard

cool thanks - was afraid I'd need a specific size or something...

I picked mine up from a carboot for £2 They're basically a an Alloy ringbolt with a cover plate that screws/bolts to the bonnet and a pair of clips to secure the bonnet. You can either remove the cable release catch and just use the pins to secure the bonnet. Or release the pins before popping the bonnet.

237/70x16" AT's will fit your wheels ok without any body mods and will give you a larger contact area when pressure is let down. 235/85x16" will fit but they limit the steering lock available.

Any chance of a pic of the pins in place Red? Thinking of doing this to mine as I am sick of replacing the bonnet cable every few months.

this may be a daft question as i am a numpty , but if you do away with your bonnet release cable and fit pins doesn't it make it easier for theiving chavs to get into your engine bay ? or are you relying onthe underbonnet alarm switch ?
