Hi
Im looking to put my seats it a campervan .
I have sorted the passenger seat no problem but the drivers is another issue
I need to know how to power it up
I can happily do without the memory if need be
Hopefully someone can ( and will) help
Thanks

Memory seats are computer controlled, so would need the rest of the vehicle electronics to go with them. The easiest thing to do would use the more basic switch controlled system from a non memory seat, which would work the same as the passenger seat.

Ive got it working but only in short bursts
That will do for me
Now to try and get the heating
Afternoon folks, I’ve just got some d4 electric leather seats to go in my d3 and having the same problem. Do you have any pictures as to how you got your seat working? Thanks

Jay

Must confess Personally when I fitted electric seats in my D3 I made all new seat looms which doesn’t take that long to make, gets rid of the 3 x second burst

u can alter the wiring but just found it a lot easier making new seat looms , also depends if the seats are memory or not

other great mods are fitting a D4 steering wheel, wiper and light stalks

My seats came out of a 2013 d4 with memory the passenger seat sort of works but doesn’t recline and the drivers seat does nothing. My d3 doesn’t have the grey plug under the seats like in powerful uk video. I have a stalk, clock spring and heated steering wheel just waiting for a reply from Fritjof Dittner but it’s not looking very promising….

many thks , what year and model is ur D3 plse

funny enough done the same with regards to the boards in the D4 steering wheel , must confess haven’t heard of Fritjof Dittner

what year is ur heated steering wheel plse as some years won’t work with the earlier D3’s , date should be stamped on the wheel , great you’ve got the heated wheel clock spring and wheel module

ref The steering wheel airbags the D3 and D4 airbags are slightly different , I got the D4 airbag as it’s flat whilst the D3 has angles on it, the both fit just a slight difference

regarding the memory seats , if u wish to keep the memory u will have to get D4 door cards along with other D4 modules , plus lot of extra wiring , my electric seats were D3 memory and ripped out the module and seat looms , making all new looms for each seat and now have constant power and not the 3 x second bursts which is really nice

assume ur seats have electric lumber support as well , think the drivers are 8 x way, passenger 6 x way

remember it was a bit of a mindfield in having to match everything up , plus all depends if u want to keep the memory function or just remove all of it and just get the electric side working , assume ur new steering wheel switch packs include cruise control

Did take me a while tracing all the wires/ colours etc to make the new looms , along with matching the looms inside the steering wheel and switch packs , as to add there different steering wheel looms

hope this is useful to u

Where did you get the boards for your wheel from? I’ve also got the airbag. I got my wheel from a 2013. As for the door cards I’ve got all the doors from the d4 so I may be able to work something out but as for the other looms and modules I’ve got no luck as the breaker has gone now (had a snapped crank).

Oh sorry my d3 is 2006? Which I also need to change the torque converter on… yuk
