Hi All,

My compressors has stopped working on the Disco. Have checked a few things such as fuses etc and it's not pumping any air into the bags.

I was recommended to install some Schrader Valves, has anyone any experience installing them? Is it a simple case of cutting the hose between the compressor and the bag and installing them?

Any advice would be appreciated!!

Hi, the schrader valves are an emergency fix not to cut the original pipes, attach aprox 20cm of 4mm pipe to a schrader valve, unplug the original pipe and insert that pipe with the valve in the bag then inflate as to be able to drive it untill you fix the SLS when you can plug back the originals and keep the "emergency kit" in the boot

remove that T piece and insert the pipe directly into the bag, to cut the origibal pipe and use the T piece involves some complication cos you have to disable the SLS as the air supply valves to be always closed otherwise the air can leave the bag through the valves if you see what i mean

Installed no problem! Down to the local petrol station, set for flat tyre, it pumps some air into it and then just deflates.

Think it's time to ditch the air suspension :(

Sorry but this doesnt make any sense to me... with that schrader valve directy connected all the air pumped into the bag must stay in there unless it's leaking... you have to use a compressor to inflate the bags not some automatic device which can make tricks cos the air bag is not a tyre and works with different pressure

Yeah, it was an automatic machine at the petrol station. Will try and see if I can get my hands on a compressor now, thanks for your help... and patience!

Well good news is that the Schrader Valve and hose is installed directly into the air bag and has started to pump up, not sure it's the most permanent solution though! Will share some photos....

Now's the time to take off the valve block and compressor and rebuild both then reinstall:).

We ran them on a P38 for a while as I worked away. But they are only to get you out of the poo for a while;).
But if you now find 1 corner dropping and you have to continue to top it up then its time for bags too.
