ive just bought a 53 plate g4 limited edition td5 auto and have a problem that seems to be impossable to cure both of my headlights are 1/2 full of water ive taken both lights out and tried to empty the water out and made sure the seals are ok but due to the reflector shape most of the water goes down the back of them and wont come out im even at the stage of thinking about drilling small drain holes in the bottom of the lens to let the water out the reflectors are begining to colour up now due to the water

please help

Not heard of this problem before, but I would certainly try drilling two small holes in each headlight. One at the bottom and one at the top somewhere.

My Freelander 1 rear bumper lights used to fill with water. I drilled a tiny 2 or 3mm hole, but the water would not drain out without a second hole at the top of the lens. Once drilled they were empty of water until sold.....

On your Disco try drilling the black plastic parts first - avoid the polycarbonate lenses if you can (or at final attempt - drill in a discreete place.)

Hope this helps

Steve.

I think I saw a thread on here about warming the seals up and the lenses came apart then re-seal by doing the reverse hth

I had a similar problem in my disco but took the headlight units out (in the same way as when you change a bulb). Took the circular covers off the back of the unit, took the bulbs out and then tipped the units so that the water drained out. I don't remember a problem.

I then washed the unit out with clean water and then cut up some strips of fake chamois poked them inside the unit and shook the unit around so as to clean and dry the inside of the lense and that seemed to work.

When I put the units back together I made sure the black circular covers were all correctly seated and I haven't had water in the units since...touch wood.

Crap in the fog lights is a different story.
