hi there fellas, im going to be tackling a 2 inch body lift in the next few days and we have a few questions for those who have done them, first off does the radiator stay in the location its in now and do the body mount need altering or does the radiator lift with the body and alter the chassis mounts..?
will the pipe come off its fitting on the fuel filter from fuel regulator..? or do i need a new pipe...? or should i just drop the filter down inside the lifted body on a new bracket and leave the fuel lines the length they are now...?

and last looking at fitting an already purchased 50mm arch kit to house my mickey thompson baja mtx 33x12.5x15s has anyone got a guide to cutting the rear arch and door on the back ( pictures ) and what you used or recomend i use to cut them,,,?
im pretty competent in doing all the work but some advice off you lads in the know would help out no end...

I can't help with the lift but for my rear arches on my old Disco I used an angle grinder. It wasn't pretty lol.

I would say take off the minimum you need to fit them as it will leave less of a gap to be filled in the double skin bit of the door. I used an old bit of hose squeezed in the gap, then filled it with expanding foam, sanded it smooth and finally painted some silicone sealer on the foam with an old paintbrush to waterproof it.

Radiator stays on the chassis need pin adapters at the top to lengthen so will fit original top mounts, transfer box ext as will be too low, loosen steering rod to allow slippage when lifting ( tighten when complete, ext seatbelt anchors ( body to chassis ) rear bumper if standard will need modding or lifting, that's most things covered, start the lift by loosening all the bolts, then remove the bolts from one side and lift off sill to gain the height to fit lift blocks ( don't forget to undo seatbelt bolts to chassis and steering rod ) fit new longer bolts and loosely fit nuts, now remove bolts from other side and fit blocks and bolts, you should have boot spacer blocks that require drilling the chassis and bolt blocks to it, tighten everything up ( fit ext seatbelt bolts to chassis ) good luck with it, have done 2 of mine :)

Don't forget front and rear flexi brake lines are now 2" shorter than standard as the body is higher.

As regards for arches it's a mark them out and grinder ( with thin cutting discs ) bottom edge of arch will cover the cut area.

nice one tim, transfer box..? do i need a new bracket for here...? everything else you said ive thought out..
this is the kit ive looked at.......? do all the small mounts ans rubbers that are there now stay in place...?

2 inch Body Lift Kit c/w Metric bolts - wizardbilt.com

Looks like you've got everything there you need, the brass hex bar with the thread is the extension for the transfer box lever, just remove the nob and shroud by unscrewing put ext on then srew nob back on and jobs a good one :)
Metric bolts are a tad wider than originals so might be a bit tighter than originals to fit but should be ok.
And yes all the rubbers stay on, the small mounts are welded to chassis.

I haven't got a disco and probably wont get one (well may be some time i might )

If you get chance can you take some pics of the new mountings in place,
Im interested to see how they look :D

With reference to the arches, this is how I did mine, no worries about filling the gap as the excess door skin covers it nicely.
