Disco2 heater - air problem.

Morning people
When I start up my 03 v8 the wind screen gets misty,& the air is very humid for 5-10mins.It even smells abit humid.When I turn on the airconditioner it does it's usuel effective job.But somethings not right.
She's done 96 000klm.had the big service done at 86 000klm.Should there have been a service done on the aircon?

Are you losing coolant ? Check header tank before and after use.....sounds as though matrix is leaking inside vehicle.Its essentially the same unit asd in D1,right ? So,check the carpet either side of the centre console for dampness,try to lift the top level as they have a habit of holding moisture in the foam soundproofing.The added bonus is the rust this encourages , if you need any more incentive !

Sorry it's taken a long time to reply,thanks very much for your help.I could'nt find any dampness on the carpets,but noticed a tiny amount of pinkish colouring on the left hand rocker cover(as seen from the drivere seat) under the pipe from the air filter,2 hose pipes lead on to a little box,where I found a gaskit was leaking.So down to L.R.the "expert" there said that air goes through these 2pipes not anti-freeze ,so this would not solve the problem ,but it needs to be changed.ha! ha! £40 & a half ltr. anti-freeze later and the jobs done-a fiddely job to say the least,just have to wait & see if it helps.The part number was MGM 000010 K- gasket kit.
