disco1 wheel past arches question !

just to recap on this,ended up fitting 8x15 steel 8 spokes,with 255/75-15 tyres fitted perfect came out past arch,but was fitting plastic arches so is spot on,went bwith a 2"suspension lift all is fine looks good got plenty clearance and wouldnt say handling on road is much diffrent,also got 50mm clearance on axles with the bigger tyres so all is well...for now..

It's good you're happy, that's the main thing. Please explain, how did you achieve 50mm more diff clearance? my reckoning this about 12mm extra clearance, and highly likelt that if you drop your pressure to bagout your tyres for more footprint you'll be less than original fittment, unless of course some myall had less than spec 235/75 16" fitted to it. there is every possibility that 255/75 15" would have fitted without the lift cause you only looking at about 9mm inward and 9mm outward from your original fittment spec also.

Is that it in your pic, looks well, better decision IMO, you sure they are 15" Rims?

Now you've got the bug you wont stop, you can just keep adding to and adding to bit by bit until you have a complete setup that you are completely happy with and does the job, the basics are in, the rest are just add-ons.

ye defo 15"rims they had bfgoodridge at 31 10 50 15 on them when i fitted them and measured the diffrence in height and it was around 50mm more,had to change the tyres to 255s because others were perished but when i by my mud terrains will prob go with slightly bigger,had a set of 235/75-16 before changing.....hope this makes some sence

Yeah makes sense, better than doing things what limit how far you can go in the future

this was measured after fitting wheels the tyres on the rims at that point were 31 10 50 15 bfg,on saying that never ran it on road to settle suspension,tyres are now 255/70-15,never measured it excatly after fitting but still had around same clearance as they are metric equivalent to 31 10s i was told,:blabla:
but you are more than welcolme to come and measure then i will refit old wheels and you can check for yourself if it will give you some peice of mind bud...

I would love to measure it, but there is no way I'm goen anywhere near Scotland at the moment it's just a couple of degrees tooooo fu f fffff uking cold for this fella. so we'll have to agree to disagree on this one.

i have had a rangey classic with a three inch suspension lift 2 inch body lift and two ind under spring kit with a set of 31 tyres and it was shiite looked great but just a pig to drive. the best set up ive every had was a sut of heavy duty 1 inch spring and shock lift using 235 85 16 tyres which made it look great but also gave the diffs the clearence they need cause at the end of the day its the diffs that get you stuck but aslong as your happy with the truck then well done its all on opinions
