hi folks,
please can someone point me at a list of the standard trim levels for
the disco2?

We're selling our 90 (sob) and want to get a grownups car, and I cant
find a list of what is included in the different trim levels (what was
the 'landmark'??)

cheers

I think it changed over the years, but here's what I think is correct
generally.

GS - base spec.
XS - add half-leather seating, roof rails, cruise control, stereo controls
on steering wheel, twin manual sunroofs, climate control
ES - add heated front screen, heated seats, full leather, electric sunroofs

7-seaters available in all trim levels, all 7-seaters and all XS & ES models
have rear self-levelling air suspension.

Many other variations on a theme, such as the "landmark" you mention, not
sure at all what they were based on but I wouldn't expect a special to have
less than XS trim level. If it did, I wouldn't buy it.
FWIW, I love my Disco II and I wouldn't touch a Disco 1 with a barge pole
now. They may look very similar but the whole driving experience thing is
just in another league. Get a V8 model and gas it, the difference between
that and a TD5 is unreal! Same economy near as damn it, (v8 on gas is
actually *slightly* better on the pocket) and the power & smoothness of that
lovely engine - not to mention the V8 sound! Just watch for any overheating
issues or coolant loss.

My ES didn't have cruise until I bought the bits and fitted 'em myself...

I think the heated screen, seats and door mirrors was a "winter pack"
that could be added to any model rather than a feature of a particular
trim level.

I take it that ACE, ABS, HDC and TC were on all models?

When it came to the end of the Disco 2 line, Landrover reduced the trim
levels down to just three. 'Landmark' is the middle one, 'Premium' was the
top, the bottom one I think begain with 'S', can't remember the actually
word.

The Landmark came well equiped, the Premium was only better spec'd by having
sat nav, the more speaker Harmon Kardon ICE and active cornering enhancement
(ACE) as standard and possibly heated seats.

I bought a Landmark TD5 with the heated seats as an extra. Well pleased,
much better than my Disco 1 300tdi, as a previous poster said, its in a
different league. Having also now been in a D3 that's a whole new ball game.
Roll on March when mine gets changed.
