Disco td5 heating issues

Hi All, Having problems with my wife's Discovery 2.5td5 and a lack of heating! The fan works etc but only cold air seems to blow from the vents. She reckoned she had heating briefly on one or two occasions but then, nothing. It was suggested that there may be flaps broken in the system and that it will be a dashboard-out job but I wonder if that's really necessary? Help! Thanks guys

Oops, sorry! If this section is for introductions, well it gives me great pleasure to connect with this Land Rover community! Living in Ireland I sometimes feel that support is hard to come by when you have contrary problems with a vehicle such as a Discovery! Unfortunately cash is usually tight in our house so its great to be able to get ideas, advice, blessings etc. from those in the know! My wife and I (Discos 2&1 respectively) thank you in advance for your help!
