got myself a series II TD5 and the rear sun roof doesn't work, is this a common fault?. On top of that though there is water getting in somewhere too. i can only imagine it is coming from the sun roof. if anyone has or knows of anyone who has suffered from these problems could they tell me how to go about sorting the problem. Thanx.

99% of disco owners have this fault! haha , did mine the either day there lots on here about it with good pics, theres 3 place the water is most likely to be coming from 1) the drain pipes. 2) the seal between the sunroof and roof. 3) the rubber seal that goes between the glass and the opening. I would recommend cleaning this rubber up, and running a bead of silicone around the seal between the sunroof frame and the roof. If that doesn't solve the problem next step would probably be headliner out to investigate drain pipes. And for the sun roof not working have you checked all the fuses? it could be a case that the water has killed the motor or corroded connections, clean up connections with wd40 and check if its getting power, if powers there could be the switch or motors broken and you can easily test both :)

You can blame the idiots at landrover who thought drainage pipes should go inside the car, my next job is to chop them out and plug all the holes, the rain can run off the outside of the vehicle in a manner any sane person would design

I have to say it is mighty stupid to have drain pipes , when 95% of the roof is roof and will just run off the side just another thing to go wrong!
