I have bought a 93 disco rear axle to fit to my 1985 90 but someone has said that the ratio is differnt to the 90s front axle and i will also need a disco front axle too....... anyone done it ? is this true or is it bull? someone please put me straight:confused:

Discomanai has a Def 90 with a Disco back axle. It used to be my Def90
The Disco back axle fitted right in no trouble.

The difference in braking power is almost unbelievable especially towing a heavy trailer.

Thanks for the info chaps. Picking up a partially renovated 200 TDi at the weekend. Chassis has been redone and the engine and most of the transmission. Major clunk coming from rear on take up, so going to change A frame ball joints, UJ's and put on a Disco rear axle. Straight swap sounds good to me ;)

Axle ratios are the same, only transfer box is different. So yes it is bull.
Cheers for that Stig, I also thought this till someone put a fly int' oinment:)
