I'm gonna need a radiator soon for my Disco 200 TDi, can anyone tell me, once I open up the frame with the intercooler, is the water matrix the same as other 200Tdi's (Defender) and what about 300 TDi's. I'm lookin on ebay at the moment and don't want to buy one that wont fit..

I'm sure someone out there can think of a suitable wise reply.. :p

Ta anyway...

whats wrong with your rad? why have you got to take it apart ? im not sure what you mean mate tbh

The discovery radiator is assembled into a module along with the intercooler. When you try to buy the whole pack its megabucks, but its easy to open up and seperate the radiator from the intercooler. My question is "does anyone know if other radiators, ie 300 TDi of defender 200 rads will fit into this assembly". There are loads of radiators for sale from 300 TDis or Defenders. I just dont want to buy one that i cant use, IF anyone has already tried this...

Mine is watertight, just missing loads of veins and slowly the motor gets hot at speed so it could do with replacement, in time... not urgently.

Check Paddocks website. They list LR part numbers. If the Def200 rad has a different p/n to the Disco200 rad then there is your answer.

IIRC they are the same.

BTW, a new one off Paddocks is about £100 delivered, so bear that in mind when bidding.

According to that they are all different, but i'd like to know "how" different. I'm still tempted to try and fit a 300TDi matrix.

Good point about the new price tho....

Im with you now mate. I can find out for you how much a new core is . Then if you get it over to me i can strip your old tanks off & fit them on the new core for you. pressure test it & paint it . Are we talking the copper core with brass tanks?

WOW, thanks for the offer.

Is it logistically practical tho... where are you? be good to go that way if it's economically a better option.

As i said, not urgent, MOT tomorrow so I'll be looking at the fail sheet before i get to the Rad, LOL

It would be cheaper to re core it as you already have the tanks etc. Im in leicester . If its the copper/ brass rad it wont take no longer than an hour to swap tanks over.

Yes its copper/brass, I guess it would be cheaper and Leicester isnt far at all. I could bring it by car, cold, so that would speed it up too. Gotto sort the MOT first tho, LOL

Thanks so much for looking...
