Guys, have a 2001 TD5 with 98kmiles is great condition that get very little driving. A couple of mornings ago jumped in to start and turned ignition and got solid red light (rest of dask lit up normally) from alarm indicator and not a click from ignition. Usually is very reliable. changed batteries in keys to try and reset alarm but would not set or reset (usually click key to centrally lock and put on alarm) and then tried to jump start with no success. Does anyone on here have any advice before I have to call the tow truck to take her away.....

get the manual overide code from LR unless you have it in your service book , you can overide it via your door lock I think

Thanks, did a bit of checking this morning and key in door will lock car and turn on alarm but when I turn to unset and open door alarm goes off. So seems alarm is stuck on. Is there any way to disable without having to get codes of LR - stuck for weekend....also tried disconnect battery but obviously alarm is smarter than that... brgds John

Just take your time and be very deliberate on each movement , it is a knack but you will get it if you persevere

Thanks - taking a break, back to it later.....did notice that second time I tried to start again it would not beep after five seconds in the forward position so I decided to leave for a while.

After some failed gos with the key the car will make you wait 10mins before you can try again , plus are you shaw your using the EKA code and not the key blade code , as this is where I went wrong earlier this week when my remote unit packed up, and just a little tip don't forget once you get the 2 toots to say code is right don't open the doors unit the red light stops flashing , it's a 5min wait then you only got 30sec to start it up b4 you have to start all over again , but once you got it going you can turn it off and on , but once you take the key out of ignition for more than 30sec you have to start again , if both your key fobs are not working there's a good chance your remote unit has got damp . I left my in a warm garage over night and in the morning all was working again . Trying to get it going with the EKA code in the snow was a real pain in the ass. Good luck
