The drivers seat on my Disco II (2002) is looking shabby, it's splitting in two places - once where a load in the back has rubbed against a corner, and once through general wear and tear at the right hand side.

I've found new seat covers on the web (LR Original I believe) for around £55.

Has anyone had any experience of swapping seat covers?

Is it easy to swap covers and make a good job of it, or will I be better looking for a second-hand complete seat?

Anyone selling a seat - standard grey cloth?

It is relatively easy to do.

Take the seat out, 3 bolts, 1 nut and bolt and 1 wire for the pretentioer and a trim cover

Take the backrest off the base

Remove the cover by unclipping it around the edge then peel it back, whilst peeling it back, cut the hog rings that secure it, don't pull the cover too hard while its secured to the foam or you'll pull the rods out of the foam.

Once removed, refit the new one and secure with cable ties in place of the hog rings.

there will be some creases once you're done but these will disappear with time and use.
