Apologies for a vague sounding question, but my Dads 300TDi disco has just developed a fault with the ABS. Well that is to say, the light isn't going out.

My only experience with other systems has been failed wheel sensors. It started coming on intermittently a few weeks back, now is on all the time. The only other clue is ever since we had the car, the brake pedal gradually gets a bit soft, like its getting air in. But we've just bled it every 6 months or so and the brakes have been just fine.

Does anyone know of any common problems with this system? I've had wheel sensors fail before, on other systems, just got my fingers crossed that its not a problem with the modulator/valve block ;-)

The cars a 1997 on a R reg.

Many thanks, Bill

Do a search on the internet for Land Rover ABS Blink code and you will get info on diagnostics and fault codes . Regards Jonathan

Many thanks for that, I've just done a google and found the info. There's a lot to be said for these "old school" ECU's which can flash out the fault codes in this way.
