disco axle onto defender

hi smashed my diff yesterday blown a hole in rear axle casing done a search cnt make no sense of what came up. which disco axles go straight on and do the splines have to match up on both axles all help greatly appreciated need to get bak on the road

Well for starters you could remove rear halfshafts/rear prop and stick it in difflock so it's still driveable in 2wd.
Ideally you'll need a Disco 1 rear axle complete in order to fit straight on, early ones were 10 spline diff/halfshafts, later ones were 24 spline, diff gearing is the same.

thats what i did in the mud yesterday lol. sorry to sound thick but does that mean i can put a 24 spline on while leaving standard defender axle on front?

you should drive more slowly over those big rocks craig!!! lol
