Any advice welcome.
For some time my 300tdi disco has kept on running when I turn it off. This
was intermittent at first. Took it to main dealer who "cleaned the fuel cut
off switch" but advised a new one ... for lots of ££.

Now really needs to be sorted.

Any ideas

simple DIY?
good supplier of new recon part ?

Thanks

John.

the fuel shut-off is normally a solenoid on the injector pump. Try a diesel
engine/pump specialist. It's a Bosch pump, which are pretty commonplace.

*however*..... the switch is usually prevented from working
by swarf from the "cam followers" inside the pump breaking
up. This means getting your pump reconditioned (our local
repairer now fits some softer followers, as the originals
were too hard, hence the problem). You will most likely
find that you cut-off switch is absolutely fine.

Overhauling the pump is not a DIY job, as the correct
calibration equipment is required.
