Disco 300tdi axle to 86 lr90

I currently have a 1986 lr 90 with a disco 300tdi engine and gearbox and I'm chasing leaks for fun on the rear axle plus I would like to upgrade the drums to disc, so question is would a 300tdi discovery axle be a bolt on fit I've been researching and can't find a yes / no answer.

300tdi Discovery axle will bolt straight in, but the flange on the diff is different, you need to adapt this to fit your prop, or use the diff out of your existing axle.

As @Rougharse Racing said, easy job, apart from the 'doughnut' flange .. but there is a flange kit available to swap straight over, check Paddocks.

The diff in your existing axle will be 10 spline, Disco 300 is 24 spline, so it won't quite mix and match, also the half shafts are different and the 90 cap doesn't quite fit correctly, so make sure you use the Disco half-shafts. Apart from the flange, the rest fits, so if the Disco axle is good, just change the flange and all will fit.

Full axle from a disco straight onto the 90 easy, like Paul says if it's a 3bolt diff swap the flange off your existing 10spline diff
