Disco 3. oil cooler help please.

Ok this morning the car started kicking out smoke like no ones business.

The pics show where it is coming from, any ideas on how to fix this would be ace.

This first one shows the box from the top of the engine bay, oil cooler?
The second shows the exhaust under the front of the car, near the passanger front wheel.

This part concerned is the auxiliary heater.

Ok, so if it is the Auxiliary heater, why has it got oil smoking coming from it ?

Hi It's meant to do that. It burns diesel to heat the engine up in cold conditions. It is called Fuel Burning Heater (FBH)
What your second picture shows is the exhaust outlet for it.
So not to worry it is normal

Thanks Pitcaig, but it is kicking out so much it is smoking out the whole road.
It is like a engine that has had the piston rings fail and is burning just oil.

No but you can just unplug it.
When it's cold outside it sometimes smokes alot but it should'nt be really smokey.
