disco 3 mileage fault ?

hello all
I am new to this forum so please be gentle with me. i have had a quick look around and can't seem to find the answer to my problem.
I took my disco 3 to a main dealer as the 4 ways kept coming on while i was driving. they put it on there computer and said it was the instrument cluster (speedo and that) so i paid £1400 for it to be fixed. now here is where my problems start. when it cam back from the main dealer there was am extra 40k on the mileage. the main dealer did there best but where unable to change it back. all the MOTs run ok ie about 10 to 12k per year. i have talked to landrover head office they have advised me that maybe a secondhand part has been fitted that has done more miles, than my car and the computer will read the highest mileage. .they have said there is nothing that can been done now.
as you can probable understand i am not very happy with this and wonder if anyone knows a fix.

If, what LR says is true, the only fix seems to be to replace the parts for brand new ones.

well if i knew what parts it was maybe i could. however they have told me it could be one of at least ten parts. seems like i have to settle for a millage increase even though only one part of the car has done that millage.

Well you could have the mileage corrected on the speedo but every time a software update is done it will revert back to its ‘true’ mileage
