hi solved the water loss problem, but seem to be using a bite of oil.
not burning oil and not dripping out the bottom.
thinking of using a thicker oil as using 10-30 part synthetic at the moment.
any body got any idea,s.
thanks

So where is the oil going there must be a reason for the oil level dropping. I believe that is the correct grade in the UK, I'm using 5w40 fully synthetic and have to top up 250Ml between the 6000 mile service. I didn't have to top up at all when using 10w40 mineral oil. I will be trying 10w40 part synth next time.

Ours uses a little, but not what I would describe as an oil burner.

Keep the level between the dipstick marks, not right up to the top, as it will use more.

Just back from Scotland, did just under 1500 miles in five days, no issues at all, ran on gas nearly all of the time, which tends to make oil consumption higher. Used about half a litre of oil, but it was over the full mark on the dipstick, due to the 'dipstick' overfilling it!

Shell Helix 10W-40 Fully Synthetic, but only because of the gas, would use semi-synthetic if on Petrol.

no smoke coming out the back end.
have been topping up to the top of the dipstick mark will fill next time between marks.
so at a loss as to why i have had the oil drop down.

thanks
