Disco 2 Stereo

Firstly, 'Hello' folks Just had to sell my lovely Puma 90 (extra dosh needed for a house move), and have just gotten a 1999 Disco TD5 ES auto. Very lovely, except for the dreadful aftermarket stereo someone's fitted. I'm not fussed about big booming systems, etc, but do like the radio & CD player, but would also like to use the steering wheel controls (not being used at the moment with the current head unit).

So, my question - I've seen a Visteon 6500CD head unit (Land Rover branded) for sale, and wanted to know if anyone knew if this would be compatible with my steering wheel controls in my Discovery 2?

After doing (a lot!) more research, I've seen these units fitted to post-facelift Discovery's. Would there be any difference to the steering wheel audio controls (wiring, etc) between the early & later TD5's, does anyone know?

Tha unit should work fine in your TD5.
