Just been reading up on folding rear seats to put into my 110.

looked at the prices and they’re nuts!

chanced on a flea bay ad, and the fella they’re advertising disco 2 rear folding ‘dickie’ seats.....

anybody know if these can be legitimately fitted as folding rear facing seats? Anything other than the best would get er indoors wielding castration instruments if was found to be wrong!

Thanks in advance

Rear seats in a 110 go in the boot, second row seats are behind the front seats. Which are you referring to?

Arent the “dickie” seats the ones from the boot of a 7 seater disco? I don’t know if they will fit into a second row position on a 110, but surely buying the correct seats, even ****ty ones, is a safer option than bodging them in?

No in short. The issue is seatbelt mounting and subsequent safety of where you mount them to. The only proper way in a 110 is to install an internal cage and mount the belt to that, then the other part to the chassis through the floor. After all that, try telling an insurance company you have fitted all that. Sadly they would either charge you ££££ or just not insure you. Exmoor trim do a seat that can be fitted but really you would need it installed by them. May be ok with some insurers.
Its all a mare on pre 07 110s. Most solutions are bodges and not up to safety standards. Even fitting puma seats is ££££ and still a modification.
Just buy a D2 ; )

So how did LR fit the side facing seats in the rear of the 110s, because they did not have internal cages. My 90 had tubular fittings that bolted behind the seats.

Cheers
