hello all ,i have come across a problem with my 2004 disco 2.it started out as an intermittent central locking fault(some days ok. some days ,had to unlock door with key) no big deal really. after that got more frequent it became clear that other things had stopped working , i.e rear windows, rear wiper, intermittent screen wipe and indicators( flashing arrow on dash but lamps not operating) i had a look inside the under bonnet fuse box and could see a little moisture in there so removed it to dry out on top of a radiator. while waiting, i partially removed the fuse box under the steering wheel to check for moisture /blown fuses etc. also, part removed front head lining to look for moisture up there, all looks fine. have refitted the under bonnet fuse box and now all i have are ignition lights on the dash but the starter wont turn (as if its not connected) i assume ive done something stupid and would be very grateful if anyone can shed any light on what the problem may be,thank you in anticipation.

Hi, make sure you connected back well everything in the engine bay fusebox. If you unplugged the interior fusebox without disconnecting the battery first you might have created an additional problem, if you disconnected the battery then after reconnection you must turn ignition on 2 and let it so 5 minutes before you do anything else or the vehicle is immobilised, even if you dont see moisture it can have internal damage so better buy a known good one which was removed from a facelift and follow that procedure i explained... if no joy the problem can be with the BCU which needs complex programming.

hi there, thank you for your reply. i have just been outside to the car and after standing overnight , everything seems to work properly again !! door locks , indicators, wipers, windows, all seem fine. i dare not lock it again in case the fault re occurs. makes me wonder if there is a moisture problem with the internal fuse box as it is worse after wet weather. i will get it checked at local land rover specialist.

it seems i spoke too soon. just tried it again. car starts and runs fine but indicators only flash on dash board, not at the lamps. no central locking, no rear windows ,no wash/ wipe. seems to indicate fuse board ? will try to source one .
