Just as the snow and ice falls my Disco doesn't want to play!

I started suffering an intermitent ABS warning light coming on that reset itself on restarting the engine. This built up to the full 3 amigos. So I have a Nanocom on the Christmas list to check the codes and resolve that one.

Then I was traveling to a friends house up their really steep drive and I lost drive power and got the two gearbox warning lights on. So figured I had an electrical fault and was placed in limp home mode?

Anyhow I have since found the battery (replaced last year) is low and needs recharging after a week of the vehicle being unused so I either have a duff battery or earth leakage fault to trace. When I charge he battery up and start her up the gearbox warning lights stay out and t seems to operate fine.

So my question is could my low battery voltage be upsetting the ECU for the engine and or ABS and creating one or both faults?

Thoughts appreciated from the many of you who have no doubt been through this one.

Regards

A weak battery will DEF cause the (M)&(S) lights on the autobox...........It won't affect the ABS at all...

To start with that fault, you really need to read the codes and see what it says before trying to diagnose it as there is LOTS of things that can cause it.

Thanks for confirming about battery voltage and the gearbox warning lights. I went on a short test run this morning and with battery recharged it seemed fine. Just going out on a longer run to test further.

From what I have read the Nanocom will enable me to read and clear the 3 amigo codes to start unravelling that one. So I will get hold of one and start the process of working that out. I have been reading all the posts on this one and see there are a number of causes. But as you say code reader is first step.

Am I right that you can pull the end of the sensor out of the hub and clean it? I also believe there is a wiring joint on the inner wing which is worth checking?
