Hi all, I have a disco 2 automatic
It won’t start but will crank over, had m and s light on dash so put a recon xyz switch on, solved the m and s light issue but still wont start, it’s not bringing up park on the dash and intermittently bring us neutral as pictured you have to hold it in neutral for the lights to show but still no start
Any help would be greatly appreciated as my l200 has just broken down so have no towing vehicle 😂
Hope you all have a good Easter weekend
Thanks Jed

I’ve just used some easy start and it fired up so leaving me to believe it has no connection to the xyz switch and it was coincidence that it went at the same time

Hi, Does it still have the issue? i would re set up the gear linkage, find the linkage on the side of the auto box on exhaust side, undo the nut that clamps the link rod and push the lever towards the front of the vehicle until it clicks in to park, then make sure the gear stick in the car is in park and then re tighten the nut, this should sort the park issue if its miss aligned.

yes, the above posts will only sort the park light issue, the starting issue is most likely a separate issue. does the temp rise with ignition on but before you crank?

Ok, Also , what was the first symptom? has this only been an issue since the M & S lights came on? the chain of events would be helpful.
Yes so m and s light came on and wouldn’t start
We bought it like that and replaced xyz switch the m and s light went
I found a blown fuse for fuel pump and thought I was on to a winner
Put a new fuse in now m and s are back and temp hand rises and glow plug and engine light flash

if the pump is running and it still wont start then could be injector faults due to an ECU issue or wiring/harness issue, or perhaps an immobilizer issue, has it been plugged in to any diagnostics to see if there is any codes and you can connect to ECU?
