Hi all, I'm new to the Forum and have already had a look around previous posts but have a few problems with my Disco that could do with Advice on please.

Please note: It's my first Disco and only had it a few days.

Problem 1: The Engine Starts, Runs Excellent, Shows no signs of overheating but is loosing water. roughly a kettle full today, done about 40 miles. The Temp is sitting at just under half way and the water tank is hot to touch but not boiling. Oil Level low but not under the mark.

Can you suggest anything and how to go about it... It's a little sluggish on first and second until the turbo kicks in and goes like a rocket through the rest of the gears. Reaches 70 quite smooth. It's M Reg and done apparently 171000.

Also what is fuel consumption like, Put 25 Quid in and got about 175 Miles?

Problem 2. The Engine won't switch off with the key, have to stall it. It was ok when I picked the Jeep up.

Problem 3. When changing up into second it grinds slightly but a double clutch seems to let it engage smoothly.

Any Help / Advice would be greatly received.

Many thanks,

Anthony.

so Nick, you suggesting I scrap the Jeep:eek: then?

no ya don't need ta scrap it aslong as the chassis is good it can be sorted:D most of the time anyway:rolleyes:

ya need the workshop manual that will make life a little easyer,

i'll see if i can find the download for ya;)

Thanks for that Nick...

I've had a closer look at the water issue today and have found a leak coming from the passenger side of the Engine? Any ideas? Like mentioned earlier, no overheating, no white smoke, no loss of power... Just loss of water. The oil has no sign of mixing {mayo}

Cheers,

Anthony.
