Some bastid smashed my rear offside passenger window last night.Dont think they stole anything cos all my tools are cheap crap. Does anyone have a link to how to replace the glass, I've got the glass in my old disco to swap over.

Ah ha! No they didnt smash your window. It prob went by itself like mine did. They do go apparently. Unless you saw someone do it!
I bought a d2 back door for £20 off some local bloke and using soapy water and some screwdrivers we pried off the rubber seal and pulled out the glass. D1 and d2 rear glass and rubbers are identical, doors arent I tried it!
Buy some para chord or thin rope and put it in between the rubbers in space nearest inside. Fit glass in rubber, loads of soapy water and with a mate inside push glass against door from outside. When looking like its in right spot get buddy inside to pull chord towards him pulling rubber lip inside the aperture of door. Make sure all lip is through with a plastic scraper. Job done.

Don't have the link, but there is a vid on you tube showing how it's done. Same way windscreens were done before " bonded screens " came about

Yes they did smash my window:mad: just realised my big breaker/drill has gone! It was about ten years old b&q model not worth anythingto sell but it was to me.It was the offside passenger door glass so it has electric motor to send it up and down.

Try fishing wire bud i have took a lot off glass out of windows and fishing wire seems to cut through the rubber quite easy can be a bit of a nightmare but once you get the fishing line between the rubber and glass boil the kettle and run the water across the rubber seam it cuts it like a knife through butter

Then you need to whip the door card off and unbolt the door top, slide in the new glass fasten to the bottom holder and wind the window down replace door top wind window up, job jobbed.

So I slide the new glass in from the top with the window mechanism in the up position with the door card and clip on top rail removed?

Well I got the replacement glass in......what a bastid job! Had to get my wife to hold the glass while I tried to get it into the rubber channel, much cursing and nashing of teeth managed to get it in [ vasaline a million and one uses:D ]. Only trouble I had was the lower bolt on the door top on the hinge side I couldn't get to tighten so I just left it . Thanks to all that helped.
