Sold my defender last night:Cry::Cry::Cry:

Now have up to £4k to spend on a discovery but don't mind a good'un' that's only gonna cost me two;) BUT I DON'T MIND ANOTHER DEFENDER STATION WAGON TYPE ;)

I've never owned a discovery and know nothing about them other than if I get it wrong it's going to cost me:doh:
I spent more than three weeks reading about the problems these motors have and talked myself right out of them and started looking at other makes, it was then pointed out by a member on here that ALL the problems listed are the same ones over and over. It was also said that all other makes have forums full of people with problems with their motors and after checking, he's right, they do so I'm back.

Right what do I want, simple comes to mind so have been looking at late 300 tdi's. Trouble is they're old, high mileage and well patched up:rolleyes: if you've got a good one for sale let me know.

Would prefer:
No sunroofs
No air suspension
No sealed wheel bearings?
No three amigo's
No orrible patches
No saggy headlining
No boot floor hanging out
No ripped knackered drivers seat.
No leaks
No air con
No electric windows that don't work
No faulty central locking
No off road monsters:eek:

Would like [happy list:D]
Leather interior
Boot liner/dog guard
Nice looking
Clean
Well looked after and washed/polished:eek:
Don't mind a little lift just for show
AT tyres as I still need to fetch em logs
Nice colour;)

I have been studying these things for a few months now so have a good idea of prices, don't mind paying over the odd's for a good'un'

I know I'm not going to get anything like I want in my happy list so try me.

Last and most important bit, I've sold my defender, my only car:doh: if you're one of these people that refuse to send pic's and if I'm serious I'd come and view I CAN'T I don't have a motor.

I can be swayed off my list and I've not actually seen any yet as defender only went last night:doh:

Quite happy to train bus where ever if I like the motor and do have the cash but I'll want an honest description and pic's before I travel miles.

Cheers all

Brian.

P.S. I do check the for sale section everyday, as well as watching ebay and news publications BUT only got the money last night;)

That you don't go from a Defender to a Disco, it's the other way. Natural progression

Times and needs change, Son off to Uni, lot's more road miles and long trips. My defender was a 110" 300tdi commercial so I had the choice of cutting windows in it, fitting seats etc. Thought disco's were geared differently so would also get a bit more mpg,, got to be more comfortable than sitting in the back of what I've just sold.
I loved driving my Defender and really didn't want to part with it, it was only an old one but it was simple to fix [with the help of you guys;)]

I'm probably being silly but I fancy getting rid of my disco 300tdi and getting a rr instead

Pm me your email address and I'll send pictures galore

I has sat nav on me phone so no need and theres a 6 CD changer too I just don't use it ;)

I still win for not owning a gaylander :D

cobblers, mine is all factory spec, yours is just cobbled together and it will fall to bits long before my freelander.call it all you want,i will come and help you sweep up the bodywork of the drive when it rusts away.:D:D:pound::pound:
