Disco 1 interior lights

hi guys, really need some help! When the doors are closed on my disco the interior lights keep flashing constantly. When the are set to auto and the doors are closed and engine running they still stay on. Anyone have any ideas bar taking them out? The ring around the ignition block also stays illuminated! Not s good time of year to have extra drain on the battery! I've found it flat once already!

The door sensors would be good place to start.

Hello, I've tried all of the door switches. They all seem to be fine, even when they are disconnected the lights stay on. When the doors are closed the switches are open circuit, so I'm assuming I have a short to ground somewhere (I doubt it though as there is no flickering of the bulbs. They are a very constant on) or the relay is up the creek! I cannot find a location for it though.
