Disco 1 Door lock plastic ring

Yesterday afternoon the door lock on my disco would open the door on further investigation I found the plastic ring that sits round the lock mech and broke in half, so tried to glue it back together but fail miserably. So my question where can i get a new one from with out buying a new lock system? Had a browse on the net and can't find any. Any help would be grateful

proberly got a whole new lock system if thats any good to ya pm me !!

If what you meant was the door ''wouldn't'' open then...

It will be your lock spring, common problem that occurs, it sits behind your latch on the lock mechanism, take your door card off, unplug your wing mirrors (if electric) undo the bolt at the top left of the door, then on the inside at the top, then the same on the opposite side and the 2 10ml within the window sliders and pull the A frame from the top of the door, then you can remove the rods and then the door lock and you can then change the spring, it sound's alot and it can take a couple of hours for removal and re-fit but even if you are to change the lock you'd have to do the same!

If you're sure that isn't the problem and then only plastic ring on a door lock that I know of is the plastic cover on the striker on the body of the car? But that shouldn't stop it from opening but only cause it to not shut properly...
