Disc Brake Lubricant

I'm replacing the pistons and seal.rings on my calipers and the instructions
say I need Disc Brake Lubricant to put it all back together.

I tried to get this in a couple of places including Halfords to no avail. Is
more commonly known by a different name or something.

Could I just coat them in DOT4 instead? I get paranoid at times like this...

New one on me I have always used brake fluid to wipe over prior to assembly
but I googled this http://www.aa1car.com/library/2005/ic80560.htm very
interesting.

ive always used brake fluid too. then use copaslip on the metal parts. ie the backs of pads etc..

Usually called brake grease, or rubber grease.

You want the one at the bottom, "castrol red rubber grease"

Make sure to read the can/bottle/tube before using it though - there
is at least one red brake grease out there that has dire warnings in
the small print on back that it is not suitable for internal rubber
components, even though that is not quite what it says on the front
of the tube.

Persoanly I'd just use a bit of brake fluid.
