Hi am in the **** and need lights for tommorow! ek!

1990 Defender.

I have no dim dip anymore. Sides fine. Fuses fine but no power to the fuses. There is a small relay behind the dash and that sounds as though it is energising and the avo says there is power coming out of the blue wire from it. I think there is a dim dip relay from there but where is it and could that have gone causing no dim dip lights lights?

Any help would be good as am currently stumped!

Hi
I've had this happen twice, 1st time was master switch on steering column - easy to replace. 2nd time it happened I replaced the master switch but didn't fix it. I eventually traced it to the dim dip system. It's easy enough to by-pass the dim dip system. If I remember right, there are only 2 wires entering the dim dip relay box that are the same colour, blue and red stripe I think but I would have to check- it was a while ago. Just need to join these 2 wires and the system is by-passed. I removed the relay and threw it away !!

Thanks for that! If the small relay is actuating does that not rule out the stem switch?

Is the dim dip relay next to the small one with lucas on it?and if so does anyone know how i by-pass?

****part dim dip switch arm had failed after only a year causing this fault. There are little contactors at the back of the arm and you can push them in and out to make sure you have a contact.

Sorted and £19.99 for a new 'All makes one". Hope this will be better quality.
