Diff Lock question

Maybe a silly question............

As my Def 90 is used as my daily runner and not for off road, the diff lock is NEVER engaged.....should I be engaging it routinely to stop it seizing or anything? If so whats the best way to do it...is it ok to engage it in the driveway and just move a couple of feet?

you should engage it every couple of weeks realy well would be good practice, its normaly the linkage that seizes up but you need to move it a bit more than a couple of feet for diff lock to engage

There's no reason you can't drive a mile with diff lock on tarmac as long as you don't turn. So it's perfectly fine to get onto a straight road and engage diff lock for 10 metres or so. Make sure you drive slowly and make sure the light is off before continuing on your journey. If the light doesn't go out when you move the transfer stick reverse whatever you did and it will go off. Eg. if you drove forward and left, drive left in reverse.
