I've been out today in the Defender doing a little off roading and now have a diff issue, I've done various web searches but most point to the diff lock not engaging but the issue I have is that the diff keeps engaging, the light started to flicker on the way home so I stopped and went through the motions a few times and the light went out, when nearing home it came on again so i decided to check the diff by jacking up the wheel and checking if it was engaging or not, when I had it out of diff lock the front wheel I had jacked up spun then put into diff and it stopped and the defender wanted to move and come off the jack, so I thought ok but I'll check it again, when I did it the next time and had the wheel jacked up to spin without diff lock, without moving the lever at all the light flickered and it engaged diff lock on its own, it then repeated doing this a few more times, now all it wants to do is engage diff lock unless I hold the lever to the right and then all seems fine!!?
Sorry for the essay as my first post but I'm confused, could it be gearbox wind up or dodgy linkage?
