Yes it's a straight swap. But changing a drive flange is 100 times easier than changing the whole diff! It's only 1 (big) nut once the prop is off.

i fear im getting my parts mixed up

Thats where it has sheared off. It needs replacing doesnt it?

Want a laugh?? I will tell you how it happened......

I was upgrading my trailing arm bushes to bearmach polybushes yesterday when my mate rang me to see if i want to go fishing, so i jumped at the chance to get away from my girlfriend for the night! Looking at the clock and it was 17:00 and the fishing shop closed at 17:30 so i rushed to put the last bolt on the trailing arm/chassis, had a look around to see if the was any stray nut/bolts that i may have missed and found nothing.

Jumped in the disco to rush down to the shop, got 500m down the road when my rear propshaft decided that it didnt want to be part of the car anymore and too the drive flange with it. So i pulled over, picked the basterd up and had a look underneath. As i lay down in a puddle (it had just started ****ing down as i pulled over) i felt something digging into me..... it was only the other trailing arm/chassis nut that i had put in there for safe keeping...

WHAT A DICK!!! I need a slap!

Well that's two of us... 2 weeks ago my mate loosened the wheels as I was going to swap the tyre..."Don't forget to tighten them up" was his last words...did I listen ..No I'm a dick... 1 week later on a lonely A39 coming home from rehersals pitch black...my wheel feel off and disappeared.... did this dick have a jack...no he didn't....couldn't find the wheel nut or the wheel!... went back the day after and found the wheel sleeping next to a large round of haylage....£30 for 5 new wheel nuts....
