Good morning.

My PSI fitted 2.5 DSE Rangie is giving me 23mpg on the highway and I'm trying to figure out what's wrong, since many users here state that theirs give them around 28mpg.
I've cleaned the IC, checked that the in tank fuel pump is working, changed fuel filter, use 2 or 3 doses of injector cleaner and, so far, no improvements.

I've noticed that the 1st injector seems wet, but just a bit, not like there's a pool of fuel. Since I've read many posts about bad spill pipes increasing lowering the mpg I'm curious about how that affects the consumption ? Is it because the fuel will sip out of the pipe, being effectively lost ? Or is it that the bad pipes cause some other problem ?

Any ideas on what else I could check ?

I'm having a hard time believing that I'm loosing 2lts of diesel every 100km when the injector is just wet. There's no diesel poodle or anything like that. But will replace the pipes and hope for the best.
Are those just pushed in ? I don't see any kind of mechanical connection.

Hot engine means the diesel evaporates so you only see whats left as the engine cools. On my spares dog it would dump a considerable amount in 30 minutes with the engine idling.

Well, last night I replaced the pipe going from Injector Nº1 to the FIP.
Can't get the pipe going from Nº1 to Nº2 out.
Tried twist and pulling but it will not budge :( I'm afraid that if I keep trying I'll end up with a broken pipe that I will not be able to replace easily.

Is there some trick on how to get these out ??

I cut mine down the side with a scalpel. You may have to remove the manifold:eek: They are very hard to replace, I pushed the new ones on with forceps:eek::eek:

i just got a screwdriver between the spigot and injector and GENTLY,i said GENTLY eased them apart by about 1/2 mm,this allowed me to get the pipes of the spigot.dont forget i said gently.

After reading both your posts I'm now curious about how easy it was removing the pipe from Nº1 to FIP. I'm guessing that the previous pipe was of the wrong inner diameter (too large).
The new pipe that I'm using is 3.2mm and seemed a tight fight.

All these silly metric measurements, by 3.2 mm you mean 1/8" that's the size it's supposed to be.:D:D:D
