Hi all,

I have a 1990 90 with a 2.5td 19j engine. The diesel pump is leaking out of the spindle so needs to come off. Is it possible to take the pump off without taking the front cover off?
I see there is a kit available for the 200 and 300tdi engines to lock the pulley. I can't find anywhere that confirms you can do this on the 19j engine. There is a small inspection cover on the front cover, just not sure of the tool I need?
If anyone thats done it could confirm it would be great?

Cheers

Liam

Thank you. I've seen the video, looks like it refers to the 200tdi though?
Gladly be corrected if I'm wrong?

The cheap kits come with the plate to hold the inj pulley in place whilst you remove the inj pump, but unsure if it works on the 19j.
But if the pump has been leaking diesel into the timing chest!

The set I looked at in my post above listed as suitable for use on 19j. But as Lynall says you will need to check belt for contamination.
