is there an adjuster screw on box? if there is then turn this for more power.

if not then box is knackered and you need a new one.

i dont think there is a screw on it but there is like wires that a small fuse like thing joins together, there are a few of these wires and 1 red plastic fuse thing with a wire on it that joins them together. the fitting instructions siad nothing about adjustment but the listing said the power could be increased. i just dont want to think that it could be knackered as its brand new and i just paid £300 for it.

when i fitted my chip i dident get hardlly any more mpg maybe 1 or 2 extra thats all, however you will notice a diff in performance mine goes like a rocket. i can keep up with a 4.0 no worries.
i also noticed when i fitted chip i had one of these on there that helps with torqu as well webmaster torquemaster

I THINK YOU MAY HAVE WIRED IT UP WRONG.
send it back and get your money back. then go and buy a new one from elsewhere.

my 1998 dse has a power performance plug and play and it goes like a rocket, loads more torque, smoother running,no flat spots when accelerating and an increase of 5 mpg.
I get 32 to the gallon average.

i dont think so its a plug & play box with 1 wire that goes directly to pin 37 very hard to wire it up wrong when only 1 wire needs soldering and i`ve checked it about 5 times also it is brand new. now hhtuning contacted me asking if the lights were on inside the box which they were so they asked me the voltage of pin 37 which on idle is 0.4 volts then on full throttle about 3.2 volts.
so now i have to check the voltage of the wire i conected to pin 37 at the upgrade box as he says there could be a break in the wire.

like i said, sounds like unit is knackered.

send it back and get your money back.

my power performance box has no soldering at all.
and it worked straight away ( 30 percent power increase instantly).

its heading back if it doesnt get sorted soon, what kind of box is yours?

look for a box thats slightly bigger than a fag packet .

thats it.

if you dont know for sure then i suggest you phone previous owner up ( info on logbook)>:)

Hi all Thanks for the reply Brookediamond..Where abouts is the ECU so i can have a nose around and see if i can find a box added? .....Unfortunately the previous owners not around anymore.. As i say,i would'nt say its sluggish, but if theres more available speed/MPG for sensible money available,id like to invest! Cheers in advance... And apoligises for the newbie question...

I fitted the digital power upgrade box from Rimmer Bros (UK) to my 2.5 DSE and it made a MASSIVE difference in acceleration and power. I highly recommend this power upgrade and it didn't loose any economy unless i really boot it. (I get 31-33 on a run) I originally bought a cheap 'power upgrade chip' on Ebay and opened up the ECU to find it didn't match and that the Bosch ECU fitted had two program chips soldered in. The Ebay vendor gave me a full refund and I went for Rimmer Bors model which cost 10 times more - but works!;)
