Hi all stuck in a rut i have a 54 freelander diesel its now been in the garage for a couple of weeks to find out why she gos into limp mode at 3000 revs at first the good old man from AA said it was a low pressure problem to which i changed the LPP and Filter but still no luck so sent to the garage to have further test after they changed the LPP (Again) and tried the MAF sensor still no luck they now come up with there is steel fillings in the fuel to which they say it come from the HPP and will need to empty and flush the tank out and change the HPP (which they say as possible gone) but the old girl still ticks over but is knocking out white smoke and smells of exhaust fumes.
if any of you landys out there have ever had this problem ?
and if you can confirm if the HPP is going would it still run ?
would this affect the injectors with the fillings in the fuel system ?
any advise id great full

Have they taken any live data readings?
You need to know what the low and high pressure pumps are putting out. Also the boost pressure from the MAP sensor.
No point in blaming parts without taking a look at what the actual parts are performing like.
The TD4 doesn't actually have a limp mode. So something is stopping it from revving up. It'll be fuel (lack of) or boost (again lack of)
More information is needed on this fault.
